Activists in Moldova Return to the Streets of Chisinau.

Activists in Moldova are planning a demonstration in Chisinau on October 31, continuing a wave of mobilizations that have intensified in recent months. Largely led by opposition groups, such as the SOR party, these protests reflect strong dissatisfaction with the government, which is accused of economic mismanagement and controversial energy policies, particularly regarding gas negotiations with Russia. Protesters are calling for the resignation of the current government and the scheduling of early elections.

Protests will likely take place near symbolic sites, such as the Presidential Palace and other government buildings, where gatherings have already occurred frequently. In response, authorities are expected to increase police presence to monitor these events and prevent potential disruptions. Localized traffic disturbances, including road closures around gathering areas, are also anticipated. While most protests are peaceful, sporadic clashes between activists and law enforcement cannot be ruled out, especially if attempts are made to breach security perimeters.
