On Sunday, October 20, 2024, angry motorcyclists will protest against the reduction of the speed limit to 50 km/h on the Paris ring road, a measure that came into effect in early October. Organized by the French Federation of Angry Motorcyclists (FFMC), the demonstration also aims to reinstate lane splitting, which is prohibited under this new rule. According to the motorcyclists, the ban could lead to increased traffic jams and jeopardize user safety. The procession, scheduled to start at 3:00 PM, will depart from Porte Dauphine and cross the ring road before reaching City Hall. About 3,000 to 4,000 motorcyclists are expected.
