Hungary: Demonstration in Budapest on October 23 to commemorate the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

On October 23, political activists affiliated with the TISZA party, led by opposition figure Peter Magyar, will organize a demonstration in Budapest to commemorate the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, a historic event marking the country’s struggle for freedom. The demonstration, which coincides with the national holiday in Hungary, will begin at 3:00 PM at Bem Square and will continue to Szena Square, where it will conclude. Several thousand participants are expected.

In parallel, this demonstration is part of a larger movement of commemorations throughout the city. The activists are not only demanding recognition of the past but are also criticizing current issues regarding governance and political freedom.

Local authorities will likely strengthen security along the route of the march to prevent any incidents. Disruptions to transportation and traffic are expected around the gathering sites and the planned route.
